About us

2022

With the rising price of food and catastrophic rises in fuel costs most families are struggling. There are many families that are routinely using food banks and are having to make choices between food and heat.

This has been difficult for everyone but those in insecure work or on the edge of poverty it has been devastating. With thousands of families pushed into poverty.

Our view is that no child should be hungry and that every child deserves a Christmas.

Last year we provided hampers to 200 families in Thanet and we want to do the same again this year.

Please help us.

2021

For all of us 2021 has been a difficult year, with uncertainty, fear and suffering. For those in insecure work or on the edge of poverty it has been devastating. With thousands of families pushed into poverty.

Our view is that no child should be hungry and that every child deserves a Christmas.

Last year we provided hampers to 100 families in Thanet. This year we want to support at least 200 families.

Please help us.

2019-2020

In 2019 we raised over £5000 and helped over 100 families. We would like to beat this in 2020 and raise £10,000 and help 200 families.

In addition we are starting a food bank at Hartsdown which will open after Easter.

Thank you for all of your help

Britain accused of employing ‘inadequate’ provision for children’s rights protection

Please help us

Many families in Thanet are stuggling to heat their homes and put food on the table. We want to help by giving them a Christmas gift.

The Gift includes:

  • toiletries
  • Food including Christmas treats
  • Gifts for the children
  • gloves etc
  • Details of local events
  • If funding allows we would also like to put in a gift voucher

We need people to support this by:

  • Giving gifts (new toys)
  • Donating food (long life, non-perishable)
  • Giving money (donate now)
  • Gloves etc

Items can be dropped off at Hartsdown, George V Ave, Margate Mon – Fri 9 – 16:00

Growing up poor

8 year old Courtney and her family live off £5 a day – they rely on a food bank to eat and wear coats to bed when there’s no money for heating. This is Britain today, where more than 4 million children are growing up in poverty.

Why Tim?

Everyone knows the story Christmas Carol. In the story Tiny Tim was destitute with nothing except the love of his family. What fewer people know is that this is still the reality for many children in the UK today.

Key areas of Thanet are some of the poorest in the UK and children instead of looking forward to Christmas dread it, knowing that instead of gifts under the tree they will be hungry and cold.

We want to make a simple difference by putting a Christmas Gift in as many families hands as possible.

The Gift includes:

  • toiletries
  • Food including Christmas treats
  • Gifts for the children
  • socks, gloves, hats

We need people to support this by:

  • Giving gifts (new toys)
  • Donating food (long life, non-perishable)
  • Giving money
  • Donating socks/gloves/hat
